You’d think with the likes of sites like Expedia, TripAdvisor, and Priceline, there wouldn’t be a need for travel agents, however, that’s just not true. The fact is, having a travel agent who is experienced in certain regions of the world can often save people a lot of money on their travel experiences.
And, just like other fields, many companies in the travel industry now hire travel agents and counselors to work from home.
Let me just say before going any further, the companies listed here hire real travel agents and travel counselors. These are NOT MLM travel companies that make you pay to sign up with them and make you pay a monthly fee or make you build a downline under you. I highly advise you to stay away from those because the chances of you making any money with these types of companies are extremely slim.
In order to become a travel agent, you’ll either need a degree (either bachelor’s or associate’s) or certification in tourism. However, some of the companies listed here will train you as long as you have sufficient experience in customer service.
Remote Travel Agent and Counselor Jobs
This company specializes in corporate and government travel services. They hire remote Travel Consultants.
To be eligible for a position with them, you must have previous experience with a GDS system, an understanding of passports and visas, and also knowledge of Federal Travel Regulations.
Many of their positions are part-time, weekends only, but they classify those positions as full-time.
