Progressive Hires Employees to Work From Home

 

You’re probably very familiar with Progressive. They’re a large insurance company headquartered in Ohio, and well-known for auto insurance.

Progressive hires employees to work from home in a wide range of different roles, but in this post, I’ll be highlighting the 2 most popular positions, which are Inbound Sales Representative and Customer Service Representative.

You’ll need to live within 60 miles of the hiring location to be eligible for either of these roles. Each job post will state the hiring location.

Since both positions require answering incoming telephone calls, you must have a designated workspace that is quiet and free from distractions.

Both jobs offer a starting pay between $16 and $19 per hour. The exact amount will depend on your experience, education, and your location.
The company supplies the equipment for these positions.

Inbound Sales Representative Overview

 

Duties 

The main duty of the Inbound Sales Representative is to answer incoming calls from both new and existing customers and offer the best products to fit their insurance needs.

Requirements

Since this role involves selling insurance, you must have a current Property and Casualty Insurance license. You must have a high school diploma or GED. If you don’t have any college, then they require relevant work experience in a customer service or sales role. You must have experience working in a faced-paced environment, be able to multi-task, have basic computer skills, and have excellent communication and time management skills.

Technical Requirements

You must have high-speed, hard-wired internet service with a download speed of 1mbps, and an upload speed of 0.5mbps. The equipment that is sent to you will need to be connected to a surge protector.
The company does not allow you to use Wi-Fi or satellite internet.

 

Customer Service Representative Overview

 

Duties 

Some of the duties of a Customer Service Representative include but are not limited to taking incoming telephone calls from existing customers and answering questions regarding their insurance policy, coverages, and billing questions.

Requirements

You must have a high school diploma or GED. A college degree is preferred, however, relevant work experience can substitute for a degree. You must have previous customer service experience, basic computer skills, multi-tasking skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for this position are the same as those of the Inside Sales Representative, which is high-speed, hard-wired internet service with a download speed of 1mbps, and an upload speed of 0.5mbps.

Schedules for Both Positions

After your training is completed, the working hours for either of these positions may include evenings and weekends, so you’ll need to have open availability. The company offers an additional 10 to 15% shift differential for evening and weekend shifts worked.
