These Insurance Companies Hire Employees to Work From Home
Insurance is an interesting and rewarding career and luckily there is no shortage of remote positions in this industry.
And, depending on the field of interest, you don’t necessarily need to have a college degree. Some positions do require you to have an insurance license though. The job posting will usually state whether a license is required.
The insurance industry is typically divided into two main categories. Life and Health which include health, vision, dental, life, and accidental death and dismemberment, and Property and Casualty which includes homeowners, renters, automobile, liability, and disability.
I’ve worked in Property and Casualty in the past, as a customer service representative and absolutely loved it, but some prefer Life and Health. It’s just a matter of preference.
Types of Insurance Jobs
Some of the positions available in the insurance industry include:
- Actuary – Assesses the risk using statistics and sets the prices of premiums.
- Claims Adjuster – Assesses the damage that has been done in order to determine how much the insurance company will pay.
- Customer Service – Answers questions about policies and coverages and gives quotes.
- Investigator – Investigates suspicious claims to determine potential insurance fraud.
- Licensed Sales Agent – Determines the needs of customers and sells insurance products and services based on those needs.
- Underwriter – Determines whether or not the applicant is high-risk, and if they get approved for a policy.
