Get Paid to Test Websites and Apps

Testing websites and apps are a great way to make some extra cash from home. It’s not a full-time job with a full-time income, but you can definitely make a little extra money in your spare time.

Depending on how much extra cash you want to make, I recommend signing up for more than one at a time since testing is sometimes sporadic.

All of these are free to join. After you have signed up, the company will send you an email or text whenever tests become available.

Why do Companies Offer Testing?

So, what exactly is the purpose of this testing?

When a company builds a new website or app, they don’t want to launch it until all of the bugs are worked out of it, and they know it’s going to work correctly and be user-friendly.

That’s where the “testers” come in. These companies pay regular people, like you and me, to test their websites and apps and report the problems to them. From there, they can tweak and work out all of the bugs.

Equipment Needed to Become a Tester

To become a tester, you will need to have an updated computer, tablet, or cell phone. Ideally, you should have all three because different tests can require different devices.

You will also need a reliable internet connection, and in some cases, a webcam and microphone.

Make sure you have a quiet, private workspace for completing tests, as some of these require live feedback via webcam.

Any noise in the background could mean forfeiting your payment.

Most of these companies pay through PayPal, so unless they state differently, you should have an active PayPal account.

Make Sure to Follow Instructions

It would be really frustrating if you took time to test, but you refused payment for the test.

To make sure you get paid for your time:

  • Read the instructions thoroughly for each test.
  • Pay attention, and be sure to give detailed feedback.
  • When using a microphone, make sure you speak very clearly, so you are understood.

Not abiding by the above can forfeit your payment of a test.
